Mercenary

Mercenaries became extremely powerful and popular when Jabba's Realm was introduced. The many new powerful figures along with the extremly dominant Hunter/Smuggler command card package pushed it to the top of the meta, where it remained until the end of the FFG days with a brief pause during the Spectre Cell era. During Jabba's Realms, most lists focused on double Weequay pirates along with support figures and strong uniques such as Onar Koma. Then, IG-88 got a massive buff shortly before Heart of the Empire and became popular as a queen piece. During the Spectre Cell era, mercenary lists adapted because of the difficulty of killing all the spectre figures, and adopted a victory points manipulation strategy with Jabba, Sabine Wren and a few command cards.
